Live Your Life
Written by: Jessica Shepherd

This is a song that makes me smile! The melody came to me while I was travelling on one of the "older" trains through Italy. I had a view of the mountains on one side of the train and the ocean off of the Capri coast to the other side, with my head hanging out the window, wind blowing in my face, beautiful sunny day - and, as is often the case, the melody just popped right in! This song was actually inspired by an Austalian saying that goes something like this,
"Work like you don't need the money, dance like nobody's watchin', and love like there's no tomorrow".

Somethin' Sweeter
Written by: Michael John Jackson

Michael and I performed this song together in Sweet Pappa Hatley. I liked this song so much when I performed it live that I simply had to record it. The lyrics really speak to me!

One Way Ticket To Austin
Co-written with: Shelley King

This song was inspired by a phone call from my boyfriend at the time. He had a one-way ticket to Austin and called me at Shelley King's house to let me know. I got off the phone and our eyes just lit up after I told her and the song came to life right then and there. For this version, we used the fabulous musical members of the Cosmic Dust Devils.
Many thanks to Kevin Higgins for inspiring the groove!
Check out Shelley King's version on her CD, "Call of My Heart".

Broken Promises
Co-written with: Cheri Arnett and David Valley

This song is about another person, but sung from a first person perspective. It's one of my initial attempts to write a song about someone else's experiences and treat them as my own. After all, we've all had a few broken promises of our own, haven't we?
